Mrs Mary Leask

Mary joined the St Ursula’s community in 2016 after 10 years as a principal in Catholic girls’ schools in western Sydney. She brings to the college over 35 years of experience in senior leadership roles in Catholic, independent and government schools in New South Wales.

A lover of learning, Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Diploma of Education, a Master of Religious Education, a Master of Educational Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies. Mary is currently enrolled in The Principals’ Centre in Australia: Leadership for School Excellence Harvard Leadership program.

“I am passionate about ensuring that every child – and in particular every girl – has as many opportunities as possible to strive and realise their aspirations and become the best version of themselves. As the only child from a migrant family to finish school and go to university, I am determined that every girl who wants to learn is able to learn, and that every girl who has an aspiration has every opportunity to attain that aspiration – and possibly even achieve beyond her own self-belief.”
