Mrs Julie Monk
Religious Education Coordinator
Julie joined the college in 2017 and is a wife and mother of three, who places great importance on family, faith and education. She has extensive experience in religious education; having taught for over 20 years and been an HSC Marker in Studies of Religion. Julie has studied Religious Education and Theology, and undertook a Sydney Catholic Schools study tour of the Holy Lands in 2015. She is passionate about her faith and a member of the Holy Family Menai Parish where she is a reader, eucharistic minister and member of Parish Council.
Julie holds certificates in Gifted Education, Behaviour Management and Mental Health from the 12 years she spent as a pastoral care coordinator in various Sydney Catholic schools. Julie also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and Computer Systems from the University of Wollongong and a Master of Religious Education from the Australian Catholic University.
Julie has organised and participated in Indigenous Immersion with the college, attended the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Sydney and Perth and taken part in an Ursuline Pilgrimage to Italy and Germany to learn more about the college charism. She has good relationships with our parish priests and works to build strong links between schools and parishes.
“A number of years ago our Holy Father, Pope Francis tweeted, ‘Dear young people, put your talents at the service of the Gospel, with creativity and boundless charity’. I hope to help our young ladies achieve this goal in their time at the college, through liturgy, reflection days, classroom activities, social justice and outreach.“
