Gifted students at St Ursula’s and Our Lady of Fatima Primary School had the chance to showcase moments of brilliance at the Newman Symposium recently.
Students receiving extension in areas as diverse as mathematics and visual arts through the Newman Selective Gifted Education Program performed, gave presentations and shared their work samples with small audiences.
It was a chance for these students to demonstrate their incredibly diverse abilities to engage in deep and complex thinking.
The Newman Program is being hailed for its innovative approach to identifying and extending gifted children at St Ursula’s and over 60 other Catholic schools.
