Ms Janet Cairncross

Janet joined the College in 2022 and is recognised as a highly effective educator and leader with a depth of experience in school improvement, building strong relationships and culture, and leading Teaching & Learning. She is committed to supporting the work of educators to build their capacity to meet the dynamic academic and wellbeing needs of young women. Most recently, Janet held the position of Assistant Principal at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Kensington and has held a number of executive positions within state and Catholic systemic schools, including Assistant Principal (Teaching & Learning) at Catherine McAuley Westmead. This depth of experience led to a secondment to Eileen O’Connor Catholic College – a specialist school to support students with intellectual disabilities.

Janet has been teaching for over 30 years and was awarded a Masters of Education degree from the University of Sydney, specialising in teaching and curriculum studies. She also has post-graduate qualifications in Religious Education from Australian Catholic Education.
